Das wichtigste, und für Menschen ungewöhnlichste, körperliche Merkmal der Hal’moot sind ihre vier in Paaren übereinander angeordneten Augen. Sie können ihre Augenpaare gleichzeitig auf zwei verschiedene Punkte oder Winkel richten und erhalten dadurch weit mehr optische Stimuli als Menschen. Das gibt ihnen nicht nur ein weitaus größeres Sichtfeld, durch die Fähigkeit sich simultan auf zwei optische Reize zu konzentrieren, haben sie auch die Fähigleit entwickelt sich zur selben Zeit auf zwei Aufgaben zu konzentrieren, beispielsweise gleichzeitig zwei Texte zu lesen ohne Informationsverlust. Das macht sie natürlich auch zu großartigen Beobachtern und Scharfschützen.
